![]() Having owned both the 17-55 and 24-105L i can tell you ole krockwell is wrong. Please note that I am not bashing Ken Rockwell. ![]() I am a beginner at photography, and am trying to figure out just how much better the color is of the more expensive lenses (I'm using the words "better color" and "good color" because "more color contrast" and "less chromatic aberrations" don't seem to describe the natural pop that I have heard everywhere else that the better lenses provide.) One reason the RC-6 is relatively inexpensive at under £20 is that you are only buying half the system. ![]() Unlike most wireless controllers, the receiver for the RC-6 is already built into a range of EOS models. Nowhere else have I heard that $100 zooms can provide the came kind of color as $1K plus zooms. The Canon Remote Controller RC-6 is a wireless transmitter which uses infrared to transmit the signal. Regarding the 17-55 2.8, he states, "The 18-55mm II lens does 90% of what this 17-55mm IS lens does, for less than 10% of the cost." ![]() "I see no differences from my other Canon lenses." In both of his reviews of the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM, and the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, Ken Rockwell states under the "COLOR RENDITION" section, Canons X0D series was, for many years, essentially the default choice for keen enthusiasts, professionals and aspiring-professionals who wanted top-level image quality and functionality without the bulk (or price) of a pro-level camera such as the 1D series.
